There was life before GitHub

I woke up the other day and there was a new message from my daughter Monica. She was defending me against the idea that anyone who is not on GitHub is not a developer.
I made myself a coffee and scrolled down through the replies to her post. Her friends suggested that Monica should make me a GitHub login or maybe teach me git (which btw, I learned to use long ago).
I don't take myself seriously enough to engage in useless debates and definitions. Developer, programmer or software engineer? Really, who cares?! But I liked the idea of sharing old stories, new stories and maybe some good stories about a lifetime of coding, before and after the GitHub "culture". So, here I am!

Thanks! :)
Awesome idea !
I actually wanted to reply to her tweet with : "Gosh, how I'd love an evening with your mum, to hear all those stories from before modern tools".
So yes, please see us all seated around you, with a nice fire crackling in the background. A sprinkle of horror is ok too 😅
